Mike Mordecai Richmond Braves Trading Card

Mike Mordecai, Richmond Braves Trading card. This is the trading card I spent the most time on. This was about 11 x 14. Lots of pencil work, airbrushing and finishing painting with acrylics.

  1. This is a really cool idea. I like how it looks like he's a monument coming out of the field. Nice job on matching the light source on everything too. Subtle. Dag Keith ... Do you even draw any more?

  2. Thanks for the compliments. This is one of those pieces that I would have a hard time parting with. The light source just happened to be luck. I draw, just not to the level I used to. More than not nowadays, it is more a of battle to get the art done in a set number of hours. The time spent, takes precedent over the quality of work sometimes. Ironically, we source out illustration work now, even though we have 5 excellent illustrators on staff. Reason being is that it is too expensive for us to do it in house. GO FIGURE!!!!

  3. Wow. I can't believe how incredible this looks. By any chance did you ever do any illustrations of David Justice?
