This was a spec piece I did for a Black History Month calendar. Ultimately they chose other artists, but they were intrigued with the piece enough so to ask for more samples. This was pretty much just a typical pencil and acrylic piece. For awhile I was all about this extreme horizontal format. Just one of those phases I guess.
What are the dimensions on this? This is inspiring. I really like this. Seems like you could sell prints, or something ...
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul. This piece was about 7 x 16 inches. Yeah, I was thinking of adding his speech, "I have a dream" to the left area, kind of screened back into the darkness. I would love to do prints of this, or at least prints of an updated version of this.
